10 ways to increase positive energy flow with land shapes, slopes and orientation

May 19, 2017 By nikunja Leave a Comment

We mentioned the adjusting of land shapes and slopes-with use of fencing, building brick walls and adding or subtracting earth in the post 15 ways to energise your home. Here we shall discuss it in more detail keeping in mind the 12 Vasati Laws .

Auspicious shapes, slopes and orientation for your plot of land:

  • The best shape is 1:1 square
  • The North and East are lower slopes, open and clear
  • The South and West are higher slopes, heavy and short
  • Rectangular plots up to 1:2 are also auspicious, however the more a plots proportions exceed 1:2 ratio the less conducive the plot becomes to contain and balance energy flow and communications.
  • The best rectangle is a plot with a longer North to South dimension than the East to West.
  • The only auspicious irregular shape is a plot that is extended towards the North, Northeast and East. Such a plot attracts wealth and prosperity.
  • Expansions or extensions in all other directions are inauspicious according to the twelve Vasati laws. But even inauspicious shaped plots can be corrected simply by fencing the plot to the required shape.
  • Excess or irregular parts of land can be sectioned and assigned for gardening, parking or playing etc
  • The shape of your land and building is crucial because cut corners or missing segments of plot and the building can bring about depletion of energies and losses etc. Please see chart below from book Vastu The origin of Feng shui

The effects of missing segments in your home

L shaped plots and houses do not maintain balance in terms of notion of harmonics. This is explained in part two of the First-geometrical law of Vasati. They can be corrected as far as possible by subdividing an auspicious shape, as to contain balanced energies. If your land or house are not ideally shaped according to Vastu, and you can’t change anything on a physical level, you can effectively counter the negative energies by employing some subtle methods such as Yantras, mantras and Pyramids.

Residents of an L shaped building with a missing:

  1.  Northwest, may experience dissatisfaction in exchanges within relationships.
  2. North, may experience difficulty with cash flow and communications
  3. Northeast, may not feel content and happy nor have a sense of direction for the future.
  4. East, watch out for health issues and may have a harder time being optimistic
  5. Southeast, low energy levels and lacking love and joy.
  6. South, may experience losses or unnecessary expenditure
  7. Southwest, various misfortunes and not feeling stable.
  8. West, learning problems and inability to complete projects.

Please see 6 ways Vastu determines your health for how missing segments can affect your health.

  • The plot should be orientated so that the four main compass points are on its four sides : A plot or house maybe an ideal shape but if its corners point towards the four main directions (N,E,S,W), the inhabitants will have to work harder in order to attain success in their endeavours. The consequence of this defect is that success is so often close but slips away at the last moment. If your plot of land is in alignment with the four main compass points then you will be supported and nourished by the balanced energy field created by the positive orientation.

What is Yoga? part one

March 21, 2017 By nikunja Leave a Comment

WHAT IS YOGA?

Namaste. This is a lecture by my spiritual master Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayan Goswami Maharaj. It has been transcribed for your pleasure and knowledge. He explains Yoga in a unique way in relation to your soul. It comes in several parts due to its length, here’s the first part. Enjoy!

Part One:

What is yoga? Yoga is a Sanskrit word which means “to add two things together.” There must be two things. For example if you want to add two bricks together, then cement, water and other substances are needed.

Similarly, yoga means to connect two persons: one is the Supreme Lord and the other is the unlimited souls. Because we have forgotten that Supreme Lord, we are greatly suffering. Sometimes we suffer as donkeys, asses, dogs, pigs and so on, and sometimes as demigods; we have passed through all the various species of life.

Sri Krsna is so merciful that, by His causeless mercy, He has now given us this human form. This human form is very temporary however; we do not know when we will die. We are all suffering because we think that we are this body. Actually, this body is a bag of urine, stool, blood and other unwanted things. Still we think we are this body, and we endeavour only to please this body – not the mind and soul.

The easiest way to meet with Krsna is through yoga. You should know that the soul is part and parcel of God – the eternal servant of God – but don’t think in terms of worldly servants. The service of Krsna is very loving and beautiful. It is like the service of a friend, mother, father and son, or like the service of a lover towards his most beloved. Sri Krsna’s servants are all very loving. Yoga is that process by which a soul can be with Krsna – this is actually the meaning of yoga.

What is taught as yoga in this world today is the exercise of the body. If you will do these exercises for your whole life, or thousands of lives, still you will not be happy. You will have to get old, and one day you will have to give up this body.

We are discussing real yoga. Sri Krsna is the Supreme Lord and we are part and parcels of that Supreme Lord. By what process can we meet Him and join with Him? By cement? By mud? No. It is through love and affection.

By giving our love to Krsna, we can attain that perfect stage in which we will be happy forever. But what is that process? How can we have prema (pure love of God)?

[“Uttama-bhakti, or pure devotional service, is the cultivation of activities that are meant exclusively for the pleasure of Sri Krsna, or in other words the uninterrupted flow of service to Sri Krsna, performed through all endeavours of the body, mind and speech, and through the expression of various spiritual sentiments (bhavas), which is not covered by jnana (knowledge aimed at impersonal liberation) and karma (reward-seeking activity), and which is devoid of all desires other than the aspiration to bring happiness to Sri Krsna.” (Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu 1.1.11)]

This is the definition of uttama-bhakti (pure devotion). By this love and affection for the Supreme Lord, you can meet with Him and serve Him. In another scripture it written: “Paranuraktir isvare.” Such deep and strong affection to Isvara (the Supreme Controller) Sri Krsna is the only transcendental religion of the soul.

[“The supreme occupation for all humanity is that by which men can attain to loving devotional service unto the transcendent Lord. Such devotional service must be unmotivated and uninterrupted to completely satisfy the self “. (Srimad-Bhagavatam, 1.2.6)]

6 ways Vastu determines your health

Protect your organs and and watch out for these health issues

Health issues with weak vastu in the Eight compass points of your home and business

Chart showing list of ailments and organs affected by spatial defects within the eight compass points of a building

6 ways vastu determines your health

  • The subtle cosmic being, the Vastu Purush connects your space, in any room, apartment, house or building to your very self.Vastu purush’s human shape represents your living space, as a living being with consciousness and life energy.  His anatomy corresponds to the qualitative structure of space. He lies on a geometrical grid which symbolises the strict geometrical spatial order in alignment with the cosmic pulse.
  • You can see in the chart above the eight compass points of the building with Vastu purush’s head towards the Northeast. As a Symbol of Life Space, he is maintained by the bio energy fields of any given space which are influenced by the Five Great Elements, nine planets (Nava Graha), and the Devas (celestial rulers).
  • When energetic (elements) karmic (planetary) and geophysical imbalances within any part of the building do not support the cosmic balance of energy flow, the Vastu Purush will to attempt to maintain order. How? He will draw upon the energy field of the inhabitants to harmonise and compensate for the defect!
  • Vastu studies have shown that the result of this exchange of energies over a long period of time can cause depletion, stress and disturbances in the bio energetic field of our own body. This manifests as various illnesses and affects various organs in the body.
  • If you have any of these health issues please check the eight compass points of your building. Adjust your home and business according to the guidelines wherever possible by honoring the Twelve Laws of Success for Healthy Living and Building for not only your good health but for so many other aspects of your life.
  • It is very important to keep the Vastu Purush satisfied. You may want to implement the remedial vastu tools in the shop to assist you to transform your space, and preserve your good health and peace of mind.

  • The most effective correction tool for the improvement of spatial energies is the Vastu Pyramid. The Vastu Veda Academy, has authentically developed the Vastu Pyramid after extensive years of research and development. The Vasati Pyramid’s unique effect is a synergetic combination of all Vastu correction tools.
  • The pyramid is a three-dimensional, relief-like representation of the Vastu yantras. In the centre is a transparent pyramid with a 7×7 cm basis, and combined with it are the Vastu Purusha and the Maha Purusha yantras. In the eight directions around the centre pyramid lie eight smaller pyramids with Vastu yantras beneath.
  • The pyramid is best installed in the centre of a house or on another energetic key point as suggested by your Vastu consultant after looking at your Vastu floor plans

How does the Vastu Pyramid work?

The Vasati pyramid powerful effects penetrate problematic spatial energies in the following ways:

  • Yantras – A Yantra is an ancient powerful tool that is comprised of graphic energy which has a lasting influence on a room’s energetic quality. The three-dimensional combination of the 12 Vastu Yantras in the Vastu Pyramid are magnified and projected into your personal space, balancing subtle energies on the karmic and energetic levels that are out of alignment within your immediate environment.
  • Pyramids – The effects of the yantras are energetically intensified and projected into your building with the help of nine glass pyramids that are placed on top of them. There are eight representing the eight compass points and one larger one for the centre.
  • Mantras – Inscribed in the stone relief of the base plate are auspicious mantras. Vastu sacred mantras chanted daily or at time of installation of your Pyramid is the most important part of the installation ceremony, since they activate all your yantras within pyramid.
  • Vastu Purusha Mandala – In the centre of the Vastu Pyramid is a relief of the Vastu Purush Mandala. The Vastu Purush embodies the spirit of a building and is responsible for its well-being by restoring the balance of energy flow within it. The bigger central pyramid placed on top of this mandal further magnifies the projection of the Purush’s influence into the space where it is placed.

Sri Laxmi Devi

October 17, 2016 By nikunja Leave a Comment

Bronze Sri Yantra 250px

Shri is the sacred sound of cosmic auspiciousness and abundance and when written or spoken it carries a spiritual potency (shakti). Written as Sri or Shree or Sree or Shri, it stands for affluence, grace, wealth, light, lustre, splendour, beauty, loveliness and authority.

There are various levels and manifestations of Sri

  • She is seen in many forms, such as Bhudevi and Sridevi. Most people think that they are separate beings although they are one. Bhudevi is the representation
    lord-vishnu-with-shridevi-and-bhudevi-zm91

Lord Visnu with Sridevi and Bhudevi

and totality of the material world or energy, in which she is called Mother Earth. The analogy of milk that transforms into yoghurt is used to demonstrate how Sri who is transcendental, transforms into Durga in this material world. Durga is approached by her devotees for fulfillment of material desires. She is also called “the beauty of three worlds” and in this context she is called Sri Tripura Sundari whose magical diagram is called the “Sri Yantra”.

  • Sri embodies the spiritual world, also known as Vaikuntha, the abode of Laxmi-Narayan or Vishnu. She possess the divine qualities of God, as she is the embodiment of God’s superior spiritual feminine energy, which purifies, empowers and uplifts the individual. Hence, she is called the Goddess of Fortune. She is believed to be the Mother of the Universe
  • Goddess Laxmi is a soothing, kind, warm and approachable mother figure who willingly intervenes in the lives of devotees. When asking Visnu for grace or forgiveness, the devotees always approach Him through the intermediary presence of Laxmi Devi.
  • Sridevi or Laxmi as the power and consort of Lord Vishnu, is present on His chest on the heart, as She is the embodiment of love, from which devotion to God or Bhakti flows. It is through Love/Bhakti or Laxmi that the atma or soul is able to reach God or Vishnu.
  • She is also the personification of the spiritual fulfilment and is described as an ocean of compassion and mercy. Maha laxmi is liberal and can infuse our hearts with spiritual knowledge without considering our qualifications. She resides within the hearts of Her devotees.
Yin yang with rice and chili, symbolising 'metal'

  • The name Sri always precedes the Lord’s name for example: Sri Narayan, Sri Krsna. Why ? The significance of this is that Narayan is never without Her, He is the energetic and She is His energy, and in this way they are simultaneously one and different. The yin yang concept symbolises this oneness and difference.
  • She also presides over 16 forms of worldly wealth which she easily grants: Fame, Knowledge, Courage and Strength, Victory, Good Children, Valor, Gold, Gems and Other Valuables, Grains in abundance, Happiness, Bliss, Intelligence, Beauty, Higher goals, High Thinking and Higher Meditation, Morality and Ethics; Good Health, Long Life.

The Eight Laxmi Forms in this world
    The First manifestation of Lakshmi
    Granary wealth
    Wealth of courage
    Elephants, symbols of wealth
    Wealth of continuity, progeny
    Wealth of victory
    Wealth of knowledge and education
    Monetary wealth

Although Mother Laxmi is worshiped as the goddess of fortune, when she is worshiped with Narayana, the worshiper is blessed with not only wealth but also peace, prosperity and spiritual protection. They can be worshiped in forms, such as Laxmi Narayan, Laxmi Narasingha, Sita Rama and the original source Sri Sri Radha Krsna.
Sri Laxmi Devi

Sri Laxmi Devi

The ancient scriptures of India ultimately advise us all to pay extreme regards to Laxmi, and any person who disregards her is sure to fall on evil days. This means that wealth should be well protected and properly used. The misuse of wealth is sure to generate negative karma, and the resultant suffering and unhappiness that is accompanied with it.

Laxmi devi’s quality of being chanchal, denotes her fickle nature. She tends to not stay in one place too long and can just as easily leave as she arrives ! However honouring Sri Yantra and Meru Chakra with Her mantra, offers you an opportunity to petition her to remain here.

The East- Ramachandra; Your Good Health, Vitality and Optimism

October 16, 2016 By nikunja Leave a Comment

East - Sun 300pxThe qualities of the East

The Quality

The Eastern direction brings us the Sun’s vital life force. Therefore balancing the space in this area directly nourishes our health and well being. The Eastern energy originates from the rotation of the earth on its own axis as well as from orbiting the Sun. This energy flow from East to West is the solar life energy corresponding with the electric field. This direction, being associated with the Sun, stands for truth and light. The Sun, as origin of other planets, represents the “self” of the whole universe. It’s qualities are warming, vitalizing, catalyzing and male, and it strongly affects the father-son relationship in the house.

The Do’s

  • This area should be kept open, clear and light to allow as much of the therapeutic morning Sun to enter your space.
  • Large windows are always well placed here.
  • The best use of the East is a main entrance, reception, study, altar, healing room and bathroom without toilet.
  • It is a good place for a garden.
  • The energies of this direction support initiation of new projects from here.

The Don’ts

  • The East should not be used as a storeroom
  • nor should it be the highest part of the house.
  • A downward slope towards the East is conducive for this energy entering your plot of land

Possible outcome of weak Vastu in the East

The heart area of the Vastu Purusha body are affected by the quality of the East direction as is your own heart and blood circulation. Over time, weak Vastu in this area has been connected with character weakness, lack of willpower, heart diseases, circulatory disorders and skin and back problems.

The Remedy

  • If you are unable to utilise any or all of the positive functions for the Eastern part of your space, then I highly recommended the use of Vastu correction tool such as the Ramachandra Yantra to help strengthen it.
  • A Ramachandra Yantra can be installed in the East on your plot, building, room or apartment for generating and amplifying all the positive energies of the East. A Sri Yantra or Meru Chakra and Vastu pyramid will do well, installed and positioned here by displacing any unbalanced and negative energies with all the positive qualities in your space, your energy and your life.

The Positive Outcome

The Eastern direction awards the gifts of good health, legal stability, steadfastness and optimism. It provides you with the boost of energy to begin new projects from.

10 Tips to maintain your yantra power

October 13, 2016 By nikunja Leave a Comment

your-mind-is-your-garden

  • Energized Yantras are immediately “tuned in and turned on” so to speak. The ritual of energizing Yantras with a puja or installation ritual, ensures you to receive maximum benefit from the moment of installation and you will feel an immediate sense of peace and joy and a lightness in the atmosphere. You may also feel more energised.
  • Each Vastu Yantra awards you with its unique gifts. Each directional avatar (Lord) can bless you with qualities that are missing in your life. ( They are summarised at the back of each yantra)
  • You may experience a range of positive experiences over a course of time; such as a shift in a mental block or release from depression as well attainment of your specific desire. The process is as unique as we are individuals, there are no hard and fast rules.
  • If the yantra installation procedure seems too difficult, then you may offer only one or more of the mentioned items. The primary ingredient of a successful installation is the mantra recital (see mantra card in yantra set ). It activates the yantra by invoking its presiding Personality, just as you do when you call upon someone to help you.
  • The sincerity of your chanting is effectually as potent as the success of your transformation and you are not limited to chanting just three mantras. As with most things, the more energy you put into it the better the result. (see footnote)
  • You can play the specially designed Vastu Sacred Mantras Cd as a pronunciation guide to the mantras. The sacred sounds create a conducive mood for installing your yantras.
  • The yantras do not ever yield any negativity, however meditating on any negativity in your life just yields more negativity so be wary to avoid this by focusing on the positive aspects of life that you want to achieved
  • Some factors determine their success; especially in regards to the sincerity of the Yantra owner. There may well be will be issues to work out and experiences to be had before you can achieve your desire.
  • By installing a Vastu Yantra however, you have some steps to cleansing your karma and creating an opening for new possibilities in your life.
  • You can maintain the potency of the yantras by ‘charging’ them up with chanting its mantra, either everyday (it only takes a few seconds) or at regular intervals or whenever you feel inspired to.

always-believe-something

Footnote: I recommend to chant a fixed number of mantras everyday. At least for the initial 45 days for maximum, powerful results. However if you are unable to do this, then please don’t worry as the act of depicting your yantra with even three mantra chants, yields positive benefits.

The Fourth Basic Energetic Law Of Vasati

September 14, 2016 By nikunja Leave a Comment

We have mentioned the  twelve Vasati laws in the introduction to the twelve Laws of Vasati  in earlier posts and here we are describing the Fourth of the Four Energetic Laws in more detail. There are always many questions about the scientific foundations of Vastu, by understanding these Vasati Laws we can come to appreciate the authenticity of this science. The Fourth basic Energetic Law of Vasati follows on from the First, Second and Third Energetic laws and it shows energies change in various areas of any given space.

This law corresponds with the Second Law that divides given energy fields (within land, buildings and rooms) into areas with positive energy potential and areas with negative energy potential. This consists of three principles that show how the particular energy potential behaves under the influence: of Water   (first energy principle), of Weights (second energy principle) and of available Space (third energy principle).

Where should water be placed?

  •  The first energy principle is that water increases the energetic potential of any given sector. If water is in an area with positive energy potential, the positive energy of that sector is increased. But if water is in an area with negative energy potential, the negative energy of that sector is increased. Thus water is an energy store and amplifier that receives and emits energy.                                                     This quality of water has been confirmed by water researchers like Viktor Schauberger, Theodor Schwenk as well as by modern biophoton research (Popp, Ludwig). Thus this natural law of nature guides as to where on a site or in a building water tanks, ponds, cisterns, or waterfalls are best positioned. water in the North, Northeast and East are generally good for enhancing positive energies. However water in the  South, Southwest and West mostly attracts, supports and even amplifies negative energies.

Where should weights or heavy items be placed?

  • The second energy principle is that weight diminishes the energy potential of any given sector in which it is placed. Thus one side of this rule is that heavy items or weights should ideally be placed in the South, Southwest and West of a site or building because it naturally reduces the negative potential in those sectors.             The other side of this rule is that heavy weights or items in the North, Northeast and East should be avoided because such weightiness in these areas obstructs the positive energy flowing freely from these directions. Thus in following this principle the Southwest of any room, building and land should be the ‘heaviest’ in weight.

Where should there be more space?

  •  The third energy principle is that the available space increases the energetic potential of any given sector. The general principle is that the energetic potential of any given area becomes stronger if it occupies more space either vertically North or horizontally East. if for example the East area of the house’s plot has more space than the West, the positive energy potential of the East will blossom more than the negative energy potential of the West. In this respect the energy balance of such a house is positive.                                                                                         Similarly if the house is positioned more to the South of its plot than the North, leaving more space in the North, the positive energy potential in the North can manifest much more than its negative counterpart in the South.

How should the building site slope?

  • Thus from this third energy principle comes the natural law that buildings should be erected more towards and upon the Southwest area of a site. This positioning ensures that the negative potential is weighed down or contained and thus the positive areas are free to manifest. It also follows that there should be bigger rooms in the Northeast of the house than in the Southwest. The same rule applies not only to the horizontal extent of the room, building or site but also to its vertical extent. This rule governs that the site should be lower in the East than the West, so that the positive energy potential of the East has more space than the West. This leads to an overall energy balance.                                                                             The North should also be lower landscape than the South so that its positive energy potential is greater than the negative energy potential in the South. Thus the Southwest should have the highest landscape or height in any given space, and can slightly slope downwards towards the North and East, thus leaving the Northeast as the lowest point. The Northwest needs more space than the Southeast  because outer movement manifests as air and is a positive characteristic of the Northwest. In the Southeast, the movement of energy manifests itself internally in the form of heat and fire. That is why the Northwest should be a little lower than the Southeast and not have heavy weight since that would block its outer movement of energy or air flow.

The Fourth Basic Energetic Law of Vasati not only addresses the best places for slopes and the best positioning of buildings upon a plot of land but also shows the best directions in which to have extensions when extending rooms, buildings and sites. This indicates that extensions in the South, Southwest and West should be avoided whereas extensions in the North, Northeast and East are intrinsically positive.

More About Vastu Yantras

vastu yantra set4The Effects of Colours, Symbols and Words On Vastu Yantras

Colors:

  • Yantras may be multi-coloured or all one colour. Although yantras also have an effect when they are all one colour, the energetic influence and clarity are being amplified by the use of colours.
  • The colour spectrum represents the spectrum of the subtle energies. The colours are assigned to the different planets and each direction, and they will be used if the energy of a certain planet or direction is to manifest in the yantra. If you draw the same yantra in different colours, you will get yantras with slightly different effects.

Symbols:

  • Symbols are another important part of yantras, because they symbolize the subtle power of a certain planet, entity or object. Traditionally such symbols are being used all over the world in geomantics in order to influence the energies of the earth and space.
  • The power of symbols is not exclusively due to their psychological effect, because otherwise it would not be possible to prove some effect on plants or other natural energetic systems independent of a human observer. However, various scientific methods have brought about such proofs in numerous cases.
  • For years the Slowenic geomantic Marko Pogacnik has been performing geomantic healings of landscapes, places, cities, forests and parks in many parts of the world, simply by carving symbols of nature’s elements and natural entities in stone and placing them in points which are energetically effective, the acupuncture points of the respective energetic system. The effects of his earth acupuncture is so convincing that even city councils and administrations ask Pogacnik to perform such landscape healings in their areas.

Words:

  • The written word has a great effect in the subtle realm, because it carries its meaning in a fine energetic vibration. That means that the effect of a writing does not necessarily depend on someone reading and understanding it, but that is has an effect beyond consciousness.
  • For instance, if you write down words with a positive meaning such as love, hope, kindness, belief, mercy on a piece of paper and put a glass of water on it, the positive vibration of these words will be transferred to the water. This transfer can be amplified or accelerated, by lightly striking the glass with a spoon. You will get the same effect if you write down these words on a bottle of water in which the water is being stored. The positive effect of such affirmations can be proven by the aid of modern photographic methods. Water exposed to positive affirmations crystallizes in wonderfully beautiful harmonious forms, whereas water exposed to negative affirmations crystallizes in disharmonious, chaotic forms.
  • For this reason, most yantras contain written elements in addition to the geometric elements and symbols. In general these writings are in Sanskrit, as it has an especially energetic effect. The letters of Sanskrit are vibration images representing the sound image of the corresponding sound. Sanskrit words or sentences written or pronounced, aiming at manifesting a certain energy, power or entities, are called mantras. A mantra is a written or spoken sound vibration, which has the power to free the mind. According to Vedic tradition every energy, power or entity has its own mantra, by which it can be addressed.

Planets:

  • In the Vedic world view, every planet is dominated by a certain aspect of God. These aspects are presented in the form of the 10 of the twelve Vastu yantras. It is completely safe to apply them, they cannot have any negative effects, because they do not simply amplify the power of the planet they represent, but balance it in an intelligent way. For instance, if a certain planet is weak in your horoscope, it will be strengthened by the yantra. If a planet is acting negatively due to it being in an ‘attacked’ position by another planet, then its effect can be neutralised.
  • You can apply the yantras according to a very simple principle. If you find a Vastu defect in the house or on the plot, you find out first which planet is affected by this. Once you have identified one or more planets, you place a yantra to the spot affected respectively. In most cases you fix the yantra on the wall; the height of the yantra depends on the yantra selected.
  • The following list provides an overview for the height of each yantra. The details given below refer to the body parts of a person most affected by the planets.

Ideal room placements for your home

Where is the best place in my house for my bedroom?                                                        Where’s the best place for my home office?room-placement-chart-copy1
Chart of Ideal Room Placements within Eight Compass points of your home
  • Using the scientific principles of the twelve Vasati laws, this diagram shows the ideal room placements within the eight compass points of your home.
  • You can see where the five natural elements; Fire, Water, Ether, Earth and Air are prevalent within each direction.
  • Positive Energy potential of the elements, weights and space as well as favourable and supportive planetary influences are best achieved by assigning the room functions as depicted.
  • You can see the Vastu Purush lying with his head towards this is very sensitive space in the Northeast (Water and Ether). His feet lie in the Southwest (Earth)
  • The centre (Brahma sthana- the seat of Lord Brahma) of your home is sacred space ideally reserved for family members to come together and socialise.
  • The Northwest (Air); your garage and pets can also be kept here. The Southeast (Fire); can also be very busy and productive areas of your home if used wisely. To understand this further refer to the Second Energetic law of Vasati
  • The life flowing energies begin to slow down in the South as they come from the Southeast. Energies are now totally consumed by the time it reaches the Southwest. The Western energies are also now coming to depletion as it becomes used up in the Northwest. As a result of the negative energies in the South, Southwest and West these areas are best made still and heavy and best used as bedrooms and heavy storage.
  • Another important consideration when choosing your personal rooms in any given space is to refer to your Unique Personal Direction which is calculated from your astrological birth data.

Your Own Best Directions

September 6, 2016 By nikunja Leave a Comment

Your Directional Empowerment

Where do you feel most comfortable within your home ? You may notice you feel more drawn or favour some spots over others, For example you may have a favourite seat in the living room or you may be drawn to a certain part of the house. This brings to mind the U.S. TV hit comedy series ‘The Big Bang Theory’ where the character Sheldon gets bent out of shape if anyone takes his seat.

The Science:

  • Well actually there is a science behind why we choose one spot over another. Through the science of Vastu and Vedic astrology, we are able to calculate your personal compatibility with the different areas of your habitat. Thereby giving you ‘directional empowerment’.

Vedic Astrology:

  • Discover where you are best supported and nourished by the planets and elements in your immediate environment. Your Own Personal Direction is one of eight compass points within any given space where you feel at your best, most empowered and happy. This is calculated using the placement of the Moon planet within a particular nakshatra or constellation in your birth chart

Choose Your Space:

  • Of the eight compass points; four will be positive for you. One being your Own Best Personal Direction and the three other which also support and nourish you, but decrease in their ability to do so as they move away from your own direction. The remaining four directions may make you feel challenged in your daily activities.
  • In which direction of the building do you spend many hours of the day at work or at night in bed?  If you have the luxury of choosing the area in the house or building where you spend most of your time, then of course you would want to be in your Own Personal Direction as much as practically possible.
  • If you are going to spend long periods of time in a specific space you can become aware of how these energies influence you. With this knowledge you can make informed decisions about the way you use the areas of your home or building wherever practically possible. Wherever you are in the world, and whichever building you reside in, you can use this same information as a guideline.
  • Here’s an example:

if North is your Own Personal Best Direction then how would you feel in all the other directions? See below the tendencies or inclinations which might manifest by additional factors. There is of course no need to fear or avoid certain directions but we can interpret this data as hints to solve present situations and avoid future difficulties :

North:  gain, happiness, success                                                      +

Northeast:  comfortable, financial power                                     +

East:  mental happiness, agricultural wealth, fame                      +

Southeast:  illnesses, use of medicine, loss of health                   –

South:  difficulties because of enemies, political agitation           –

Southwest:  hostilities without reason, expenses, agitation        –

West:  riches and wealth through food, happiness, success         +

Northwest:  fear of death, agitation, responsibility for accident –

Your Own Personal Direction is included free in a Consultation or you can contact me if you would like to know the best place in your home or office for you.

Your Nakshatra also reveals your Vedic animal and symbol. There is a deep significance of the animal connected to the nakshatras and this will give an indication of the personality, behaviour pattern, and relationship with other nakshatras not just from a sexual point of view, but also the spiritual connection. We will discuss nakshatras in the next few posts.

Vastu And Living With The Nine Planets

Living with nine planets

  • According to the scientific principles of Vastu all forces and influences of the universe which have an effect on us, can also be found inside the house.
  • By the help of the effective and simple system of the nine planets of our Sun system, we can very easily understand these influences. We can refer to the astrological systems of all cultures, they describe very precisely the forces acting upon us, influencing our fate binding us, as do ‘invisible’ threads in a spiders web.
  • All areas of our living space are represented by the nine planets and their interactions, so their positions can be seen ‘reflected’ in your life situations at home or work.
  • Any given space is divided into twelve segments. Each representing one of the twelve zodiac signs. Your ascendant or rising sign is situated in the East of your home. Northeast represented by the second and third houses. The fourth house is delineated by the North of your premises. etc.
  • Just as various aspects of life are dominated by individual planets, building orientation, room functions, building materials and other details such as objects within your house are also under the influence of a certain planet. Inside any given space or your house, there is a lively exchange between these energies and also between the nine planets by which we are affected. Your dwelling place acts like a lens which focuses the influences of the nine planets on all the residents, allowing them to feel these interactions.
  • For instance, if you are in a North room in the  of the house, you are automatically under the influence of Mercury, the presiding planet of the North. You can choose to set up an office here with the intention of administering your finances. You can receive support from the Mercurial energies which are very beneficial for this endeavour, since Mercury also fosters financial affairs in general. In this case you must see to it that the North is being designed according to Vastu principles.             You can tap into the creative, feminine and healing energies from the North which originates from the centre of the Earth to assist you in communications and general office work.  A computer is a compatible object with Mercury who is also responsible for communications. An office in the South is dominated by Mars planet and is under other influences. Mars tends to foster more pragmatic aspects of life connected to work, research or technology.
  • The following table assigns the dominating planets to each direction:

               Direction — Dominating planet

East ————Sun

 Southeast —-Venus

South———-Mars

Southwest—-Rahu

 West———-Saturn

Northwest—-Moon

     North———-Mercury

          Northeast–—-Jupiter/Ketu

  • The eight directional compass points and their planetary correlations reveals a deeper understanding of their attributes and their effects on the inhabitants. A list of body parts of a person most affected by the planets can be found here. However, it is necessary here to know the most the important qualities of the nine planets which are paramount in Vedic astrology.
  • Your personal astrology data is used to determine your own personal best directions within any given space. By understanding the quality and division of space we can know how to utilise it for our benefit for optimal directional empowerment.
  • It is important to understand that ultimately planets do not force us to act. They merely reflect the frequency with which we are resonating within our karmic journey at a specific time and space (location).
  • The practical application of this wonderful science enables us to reap the benefits of the positive planetary influences available to us. We can minimise their potential negative aspects with knowledge of Vastu principles and transform your space like an alchemist.

The South -The Direction of Prosperity and Success

South - Mars 300px

south-box

The Quality

The planet Mars represents the active emotional and vital projections of the self towards the outside world. It is the active male pole, personifying strength, courage and enthusiasm. Without its influence, no interest, passion or determination will ever develop. Mars is the planet of deed, and encourages mechanical abilities, self confidence, endurance, organisation and leadership qualities.Astrologically Mars mainly affects brothers and relationships between friends and associates whereas within the residence it mainly affects females of the family.

The Do’s

  • In the home this area is well suited for a bedroom. It also works well for a living room, a fireplace area and is also a good place for electric installations and storage.
  • In fact heavy storage here can minimise the negative qualities of Mars on a karmic level!
  • It is a good idea to keep this area clean and tidy.
  • You can offer the gemstone coral to Narasimhadev and place it in the South should a suitable place be available.
  • Artefacts or images depicting the elements earth and fire or any of the above mentioned qualities of the South stimulate positive Vastu here as is storing heavy potted plants with large leaves to provide the Earth element.
  • You can use a dash of any of the colours extracted from this Narasingha Yantra above, for choice of decor in the South of your personal space.
  • In the workplace, it is a good place for a cafeteria, relaxation area and security office, heating or lighting systems. Any room using fire, electrical storage would be a positive room function.

The Don’ts:

  • People whose constitution has too much of the fire element or Pita or those who have a strong negative influence of Mars in their horoscope should avoid this area for long periods of time.
  • Since fire and earth pervade here you can avoid a clash of elements by not storing water on or near this point.
  • This area should not be kept open and light and neither should there be extraneous activities be performed here.
  • The land should not slope downwards towards the South

Possible Negative Outcome:

  • Over time weak Vastu in this area (South) may lead the negative aspect of Mars to manifest; chaotic and destructive forces that can lead to thoughtlessness, competitive spirit, impulsiveness, accidents, injuries, financial losses, animosity and war.
  • In terms of your health watch out for measles, mumps and tendencies for infections, fever, colds and allergies.

Vastu Remedy:

  • Whilst chanting the Narasinghadev mantra you can place the Narasinghadev Yantra (see above) on a Tuesday or any other auspicious time and day, in the South point of your home or workplace.
  • Any severe spatial deficits can be further transformed and harmonised with the installation of the Vastu pyramid in the centre of your property or on the South point of your building and it will work in conjunction with the Narasinghadev yantra on your wall.                                                                                                                             You can thus nullify any Vastu discrepancies on the energetic and karmic levels and thereby create an auspicious space for you, your family as well as within your work space.

The Positive outcome:

When this direction is properly utilised we can discover prosperity and success in your life. Become enthused and motivated in your endeavours as well as protected from unnecessary financial losses.

6 Ways Vastu Yantras Balance Spatial Energy

May 29, 2016 By nikunja Leave a Comment

1_inch_yantra_fan.png_med

What is a Vastu Yantra ?

There are thousands of different types of yantras, however in the art of Vastu, twelve specific and authentic yantras are used as space correctional tools.

  1. According to ancient Vedic tradition the Avatars (incarnations of Krsna) are the presiding controllers of the four cardinal points and as well as the four sub directions. They reside within the various points of the respective Vastu Yantras, and once invoked by their respective mantras, they open our minds and hearts to Their transformative power.
  2. Yantras have been used in Vastu for thousands of years in order to balance defects on the energetic and karmic plane. Simply by applying yantras, the energetic quality of a room is being influenced, especially if it is applied to one of the energetic key points of a room.
  3. Corrections applied on the physical plane such as changes in the building structure are especially important, because those changes most directly affect the overall energy situation. However, a deeper level of Vastu is the karmic plane, focussing on the combination and interaction of planetary influences inside the house. Such subtle means of correction are effective, because Vastu qualities mainly affect the subtle plane, and therefore one can also find counteracting means on this plane using Yantras
  4. This effect is due to the Geometric elements: In general, yantras are made of complex geometric elements, which form a geometric whole that creates a dynamic field of force or matrix of energy.
  5. If you look closely at a Vastu Yantra you can see Sanskrit names of the Avatars and astrological symbols representing the effectual planets. One or more of the 5 great elements (Earth, Water, Air, Ether and Fire) and the Devas or Universal maintainers of the cosmos, are also automatically included within their respective yantras.
  6.  The Avatars govern the spiritual level of our being and all the other levels; Geometric, Karmic, Energetic are working as subservient to that principle. This explains why wearing a Yantra or concentrating upon it bestows spiritual and astrological benefits.

10 Steps to activate your Yantra

March 23, 2016 By nikunja 1 Comment

Preparation

  • girl prayingAfter showering and in clean clothes, you can calm the mind to prepare for the puja.
  • You can do pranayama or take deep and slow, focused breaths.
  • You may want to check your mantra pronunciation with the Vastu Sacred Mantras album or play it in the background to help create the associated ambience.
  • A Vastu Yantra is placed upon the wall, in one of the eight compass points of your building. (Vastu Yantra set comes with simple instructions on how to do this.) Or place the Yantra on a table (with clean cloth) with a small bell, a lighter, incense and holder, candle or ghee lamp with wicks, small conch, new handkerchief and fresh flowers.

How to activate your yantra ? (Puja)

  1. Ring a small bell with your left hand (optional) and place your fourth finger of right hand on the exact centre point or bindhu of your yantra.
  2. Chant the associated mantra for your yantra or simply ‘AUM’ at least three times to invoke the presiding deity or Avatar of the yantra. Remove your finger
  3. You can offer incense in clockwise circular motions. A pleasant aroma is created to welcome your Avatar and it also represents your desires.
  4. Next carefully light a candle or ghee lamp and offer as the incense. This fire represents our soul. Our very self that is being offered in this quest for self discovery and self fulfilment. It is the desire for truth and light to be awakened within us, simultaneously aligning us with the Cosmic Pulse.
  5. Offer water in a small conch shell or any clean and unused vessel, and meditate as if you are bathing the Yantra. (optional)
  6. A small clean handkerchief or paper napkin is offered as a means of ‘drying’ the deity after the bath. (optional)
  7. Fresh fragrant flowers are offered by circling seven times around the Yantra. They represent your heart which you want to align with the personality of the Yantra and become a receptacle of their blessings.
  8. Fresh or dry fruits can also be lovingly offered to the Avatar residing within your yantra. This offering represents our self sacrifice and surrender. These remnants or prashad are considered to have powerful shakti or potency due to being infused high frequency vibrations. The sanctified food can be eaten and shared afterwards.
  9. Meditate by gazing upon your Yantra, Focus on the positive outcome of any particular issue in your life with positive affirmations. You might want to formulate a personal aim and let it accompany the ceremony in the form of a prayer or meditation. You could wish that negative energies be completely removed from your house or that the inhabitants be protected from any negative influences. Every wish, spoken for the good of all, is possible.
  10. Conclude the procedure with a bow and folded hands out of love and gratitude for all gifts past, present and future.

Congratulations your Yantra is now installed !

conch
NB. The most important way to maintain the potency of the yantra is by its mantra recital. You can repeat the whole or any part of the procedure as you feel inspired to and charge up your yantras. A similar and yet more elaborate Vastu puja ceremony is performed by the Vastu pandit when installing the Vasati pyramid and Meru Chakra in the home and business.
(After finishing with items which already offered, sprinkle water on your hands to make them fresh and clean for offering the next item. All the items once offered in the ceremony should not be offered again.)

Third Basic Energetic Law of Vasati- 6 Practical Ways to Ensure Positive Energy Flow

March 6, 2016 By nikunja Leave a Comment

We have mentioned the 12 Vasati laws in the introduction of twelve laws for successful healthy living. Here we are describing the Third of the Four Energetic Laws in more detail. There are always many questions about the scientific foundations of Vastu, by understanding these Vasati Laws we can come to appreciate the authenticity of this science. The Third basic Energetic Law of Vasati follows on from the First and Second Energetic laws and it demonstrates the strong and weak areas in any given space.

Strong and Weak Areas; This principle addresses the qualitative difference between the life strengthening directions of the North and the East and the two energetically weaker directions of the South and the West. Accordingly, each side of a square that is parallel to the cardinal points can be divided into strong and weak energetic points.

Strong and weak areas of Space

  •  On each side, the Northern and Eastern half is energetically stronger than the Western and Southern half.
  • Each side of an energy field has a strong and weak half. The Northern and Eastern half is always the stronger than the Southern and Western half.
  • Thus on the East side, the Northeastern point is energetically stronger than the Southeastern point.
  • The same principle applies to the West side, where the Northwestern point is energetically stronger than the Southwest.
  • The Northern side of the Northeastern half is energetically preferable to the Northwest point.

From this simple basic rule, important practical conclusions can be deduced to help regulate the energy influx within a building, plot or a site.

6 Practical Ways to Ensure Positive Energy Flow

  • Roads that directly aim at a site are to be seen as positive if both meet in a strong area.
  • Roads that meet in a weak area are considered negative.
  • Dead end roads and roads which make a right angle turn in either one or both directions, directly in front of the building site or house are also negative.
  • Entrances, doors and windows should preferably be in the strong areas of a house or a room. This ensures that mainly positive energies flow into your building or plot.
  • Doors are seen as positive when they are in a strong part of the house and their energy flows parallel to the East-west or North-South axis.                                                             While Feng Shui considers it not positive to put doors and windows opposite each other, Vasati sees it as positive based upon this third natural law.
  • Conversely, energy flow along the the sub-direction diagonals, e.g. Northwest to Southeast are deemed negative.

The Southeast- Recharge Your Energy Levels and have more fun, love and joy in your life

October 7, 2015 By nikunja Leave a Comment

Parashuram Yantra

Parashuram Yantra

Parashuram Yantra  The Southeast is ruled by Venus, the planet of love and beauty which represents our sense of harmony, passion and enjoyment. On the material level, Venus stands for sexuality, wealth and beauty, while on a inner level it represents devotion to truth and spiritual sciences. It mainly affects women, children and the second son within your home.

The do’s

This area is well suited for a kitchen, since the creative energies of cooking are complemented by the Venetian influence .                                                                       In the home, it is a good idea to keep this area clean, tidy, and you may place diamonds, artefacts or images depicting qualities of Venus. You can use the colours of the rainbow, turquoise and silver, as well as extract from the Yantra above for choice of decor within this room.

In the workplace, it is a good place to manufacture goods or operate machinery and heating or lighting systems.  Any room using fire, electrical storage would be a positive room function in the Southeast of your property as well as a kitchen or a home gym or workout space, office with many electrical gadgets, a fireplace, recreation room and a home theatre

 The don’ts

If you can refrain from storing sell by date food or fresh food on the Southeast point of your home or kitchen, this would give it a longer life, however storage of cooking oils is fine . Agni, the celestial deity in charge of fire element pervades this area, therefore in order to avoid a clash of elements, water is also not stored on or near this point.

Possible Negative Outcome

Weak Vastu in this area may lead your business to have drawn out transactions and slumping of stocks and investments. In terms of your health , eye infections, kidney and reproductive problems as well as lethargy may manifest and uncontrolled sexuality.

Remedy

Whilst chanting the Parashuram mantra you can place this Yantra, on a Friday, in the Southeast point of your home or work place thus nullifying any Vastu discrepancies on the energetic and karmic levels and thereby create a space where you can get in touch with the higher qualities of Venus.

Any severe spatial defects can be further transformed and harmonised with the installation of the Vastu pyramid in the centre of your property or on the southeast compass point point and it will work in conjunction with the Parashuram yantra on your wall.

The Positive outcome

Strong Vastu in this area leads to fulfilment of your desires, popularity, generosity and emotional control as well as supporting good energy levels for all residents of the house. It enhances loving relationships, friendly interactions and awards comfort, luxury and sensuality, creating a space in which to have fun, love and more joy in your life.

The Second Basic Energetic Law of Vasati

October 6, 2015 By nikunja Leave a Comment

We have listed the 12 Vasati laws and described the First Energetic Vasati Law in earlier posts and here we are describing the Second Energetic Law in more detail to help us understand how energy flows in any given space.

The Second Energetic Law – The Energy Potential Parts;

  • The second basic energetic law of Vasati is closely related with the first. The life given energies reach a certain site from the North and East and are already ‘digested’ or consumed while flowing to the Southwest. No life supporting energies come from the South and West on any site. It follows the whole site can be divided in one half with positive energetic potential and one half with negative energetic potential.
  • The positive area comprises the North, Northeast and East, while the South, Southwest, and West have negative energetic potential. However, this does not mean that the energies in South and West are basically negative, while there are always positive energies in North and East. Rather this demonstrates the energetic potential of the various sectors. External circumstances, items that are placed in a building or room, the people who live or work there, the buildings themselves, and various natural influences can make potential energy more positive or negative.
image 2nd energetic law                                                                                                                                                                                                     Positive And Negative Energetic Potential Of Two Sectors

  • A site or building that has been erected using the principles of Vasati laws of Nature manifests positive energies in all its areas, even in regions of negative energy potential. From this a further basic principle can be deduced. It describes how the energy flows from area of positive energy potential into the area of negative energy potential. The two points where this happens is on the Northwest and Southeast diagonal axis. The flowing life energy releases energy in these areas through the negative shift that is occurring here. This energy is expressed in the Northwest as external movement of element Air and in the Southeast as internal energy i.e. heat or Fire element.
Second Energetic Law                                                     Division of Space Into Warm and Cold Sectors

  • The Southeastern part including South and East is influenced by the Sun and is known as the warm sector, while the Northwestern part, including the North and west is influenced by the Moon and is called the cold sector. The Northwest supports movement and dynamic exchange, while the Southeast supports heat processes and the fire element.

How Do Vastu Yantras Work?

Vastu Yantras As A Means Of Balancing Spatial Energy

Corrections applied on the physical plane such as changes in the building structure are especially important, because those changes most directly affect the overall energy situation.

  • However, a deeper level of Vastu is the karmic plane, focussing on the combination and interaction of planetary influences inside the house. Such subtle means of correction are effective, because Vastu qualities mainly affect the subtle plane, and therefore one can also find counteracting means on this plane using Vastu Yantras.
  • Yantras have been used in Vastu for thousands of years in order to balance defects on the energetic and karmic plane. Simply by applying Vastu Yantras, the energetic quality of a room is being influenced, especially if it is applied to one of the energetic key points of a room.
  • This effect is due to the Geometric elements: In general, yantras are made of complex geometric elements, which form a geometric whole that creates a dynamic field of force or matrix of energy.
  • According to ancient Vedic tradition there are eight specific Avatars of Sri Krsna, who are the Lords of the eight compass points of any given building. They also reside within the geometry of their  unique Vastu Yantra. Therefore when each Vastu Yantra is installed in its associated compass point in any home, they begin to recharge the space uplift the consciousness through their transformative power. This energy strives to align the vibration of our energy field to that of the pulse of universe.
  • In the Vastu Yantras are the names of the Avatars and astrological symbols representing the effectual planets, all written in Sanskrit. This language of the Devas vibrates on a refined and high frequency, it therefore carries shakti or potency.
Kurmadev yantra -Kurmadev Yantra for the West of your home. It is influenced by the planet Saturn who grants Discipline and Success
  • The Avatars govern the spiritual level of our being and all the other levels; Geometric, karmic, Energetic are working as subservient to that principle.
  • This explains why wearing a Yantra or concentrating upon it bestows spiritual and astrological benefits.
  • There are thousands of different types of yantras, however in the art of Vastu, twelve specific and authentic Yantras are used as space correctional tools.
