Vastu and Ayurveda for complete health

June 7, 2019 By nikunja2 Leave a Comment

According to Vastu scriptures there are two essential ways to maximise your health with Ayurveda and Vastu:

  1. Balancing the influences of the Five cosmic elements
  2. Harmonising your doshas with Five elements.

Balancing the influences of the Five Cosmic elements

Ayurveda, the Vedic science of natural herbal medicine and healing describes the bodies of the hundreds and thousands of species on earth as entirely made up of the five great material elements: Air, Fire, Water, Ether and Earth. Each of these Five elements constitute essential bodily ingredients and functions as follows:

Ether Hollow spaces in the body, fine fields
Air Movement, joints, breathing
Fire Digestion, burning and metabolism of cells, blood
Water Liquids, lymph, mucus (together with earth)
Earth Bones, teeth,, solid body components

Vastu defects in each of the eight compass point directions causes an imbalance of the five elements and can consequently give rise to various physical illnesses as outlined in the following sections. Here we will discuss the Northeast area and subsequent posts will address the other directions as well as learn how to balance the doshas with the five elements.

  • The Five elements in Your Space
The Five Elements in Your Space

The Ether and Water Elements in the Northeast

In order for you to get the vital exposure to the elements Ether and water, the Northeast point of your land should be lowered with open space beyond and the building should also be open as much as possible to the Northeast. If the land here is too heavy, unclean, closed up and blocked by the neighbour, or if slope is higher here then the rest of the plot then the benefits of these elements are lacking. The same applies to the building. The possible consequences of this defect is a development of headaches and brain tumours and problems with the body’s water balance.

In the chart above you can see the head of the Vastu purush lies in the Northeast therefore it a sensitive area which is supportive for spiritual development, contentment and maintaining good health. It should be used for auspicious activities to avoid attracting misfortunes and ruination.

You can place a bowl of water here and keep area light and spacious to strengthen the elements of this sacred space, simultaneously balancing the Water and Ether doshas in your body.

Please the see the Fourth Basic Energetic Law of Vasati to have a scientific understanding of the positive energy potential of water and ether (space)

10 ways to increase positive energy flow with land shapes, slopes and orientation

May 19, 2017 By nikunja Leave a Comment

We mentioned the adjusting of land shapes and slopes-with use of fencing, building brick walls and adding or subtracting earth in the post 15 ways to energise your home. Here we shall discuss it in more detail keeping in mind the 12 Vasati Laws .

Auspicious shapes, slopes and orientation for your plot of land:

  • The best shape is 1:1 square
  • The North and East are lower slopes, open and clear
  • The South and West are higher slopes, heavy and short
  • Rectangular plots up to 1:2 are also auspicious, however the more a plots proportions exceed 1:2 ratio the less conducive the plot becomes to contain and balance energy flow and communications.
  • The best rectangle is a plot with a longer North to South dimension than the East to West.
  • The only auspicious irregular shape is a plot that is extended towards the North, Northeast and East. Such a plot attracts wealth and prosperity.
  • Expansions or extensions in all other directions are inauspicious according to the twelve Vasati laws. But even inauspicious shaped plots can be corrected simply by fencing the plot to the required shape.
  • Excess or irregular parts of land can be sectioned and assigned for gardening, parking or playing etc
  • The shape of your land and building is crucial because cut corners or missing segments of plot and the building can bring about depletion of energies and losses etc. Please see chart below from book Vastu The origin of Feng shui

The effects of missing segments in your home

L shaped plots and houses do not maintain balance in terms of notion of harmonics. This is explained in part two of the First-geometrical law of Vasati. They can be corrected as far as possible by subdividing an auspicious shape, as to contain balanced energies. If your land or house are not ideally shaped according to Vastu, and you can’t change anything on a physical level, you can effectively counter the negative energies by employing some subtle methods such as Yantras, mantras and Pyramids.

Residents of an L shaped building with a missing:

  1.  Northwest, may experience dissatisfaction in exchanges within relationships.
  2. North, may experience difficulty with cash flow and communications
  3. Northeast, may not feel content and happy nor have a sense of direction for the future.
  4. East, watch out for health issues and may have a harder time being optimistic
  5. Southeast, low energy levels and lacking love and joy.
  6. South, may experience losses or unnecessary expenditure
  7. Southwest, various misfortunes and not feeling stable.
  8. West, learning problems and inability to complete projects.

Please see 6 ways Vastu determines your health for how missing segments can affect your health.

  • The plot should be orientated so that the four main compass points are on its four sides : A plot or house maybe an ideal shape but if its corners point towards the four main directions (N,E,S,W), the inhabitants will have to work harder in order to attain success in their endeavours. The consequence of this defect is that success is so often close but slips away at the last moment. If your plot of land is in alignment with the four main compass points then you will be supported and nourished by the balanced energy field created by the positive orientation.

Protect your organs and and watch out for these health issues

Health issues with weak vastu in the Eight compass points of your home and business

Chart showing list of ailments and organs affected by spatial defects within the eight compass points of a building

6 ways vastu determines your health

  • The subtle cosmic being, the Vastu Purush connects your space, in any room, apartment, house or building to your very self.Vastu purush’s human shape represents your living space, as a living being with consciousness and life energy.  His anatomy corresponds to the qualitative structure of space. He lies on a geometrical grid which symbolises the strict geometrical spatial order in alignment with the cosmic pulse.
  • You can see in the chart above the eight compass points of the building with Vastu purush’s head towards the Northeast. As a Symbol of Life Space, he is maintained by the bio energy fields of any given space which are influenced by the Five Great Elements, nine planets (Nava Graha), and the Devas (celestial rulers).
  • When energetic (elements) karmic (planetary) and geophysical imbalances within any part of the building do not support the cosmic balance of energy flow, the Vastu Purush will to attempt to maintain order. How? He will draw upon the energy field of the inhabitants to harmonise and compensate for the defect!
  • Vastu studies have shown that the result of this exchange of energies over a long period of time can cause depletion, stress and disturbances in the bio energetic field of our own body. This manifests as various illnesses and affects various organs in the body.
  • If you have any of these health issues please check the eight compass points of your building. Adjust your home and business according to the guidelines wherever possible by honoring the Twelve Laws of Success for Healthy Living and Building for not only your good health but for so many other aspects of your life.
  • It is very important to keep the Vastu Purush satisfied. You may want to implement the remedial vastu tools in the shop to assist you to transform your space, and preserve your good health and peace of mind.

The East- Ramachandra; Your Good Health, Vitality and Optimism

October 16, 2016 By nikunja Leave a Comment

East - Sun 300pxThe qualities of the East

The Quality

The Eastern direction brings us the Sun’s vital life force. Therefore balancing the space in this area directly nourishes our health and well being. The Eastern energy originates from the rotation of the earth on its own axis as well as from orbiting the Sun. This energy flow from East to West is the solar life energy corresponding with the electric field. This direction, being associated with the Sun, stands for truth and light. The Sun, as origin of other planets, represents the “self” of the whole universe. It’s qualities are warming, vitalizing, catalyzing and male, and it strongly affects the father-son relationship in the house.

The Do’s

  • This area should be kept open, clear and light to allow as much of the therapeutic morning Sun to enter your space.
  • Large windows are always well placed here.
  • The best use of the East is a main entrance, reception, study, altar, healing room and bathroom without toilet.
  • It is a good place for a garden.
  • The energies of this direction support initiation of new projects from here.

The Don’ts

  • The East should not be used as a storeroom
  • nor should it be the highest part of the house.
  • A downward slope towards the East is conducive for this energy entering your plot of land

Possible outcome of weak Vastu in the East

The heart area of the Vastu Purusha body are affected by the quality of the East direction as is your own heart and blood circulation. Over time, weak Vastu in this area has been connected with character weakness, lack of willpower, heart diseases, circulatory disorders and skin and back problems.

The Remedy

  • If you are unable to utilise any or all of the positive functions for the Eastern part of your space, then I highly recommended the use of Vastu correction tool such as the Ramachandra Yantra to help strengthen it.
  • A Ramachandra Yantra can be installed in the East on your plot, building, room or apartment for generating and amplifying all the positive energies of the East. A Sri Yantra or Meru Chakra and Vastu pyramid will do well, installed and positioned here by displacing any unbalanced and negative energies with all the positive qualities in your space, your energy and your life.

The Positive Outcome

The Eastern direction awards the gifts of good health, legal stability, steadfastness and optimism. It provides you with the boost of energy to begin new projects from.

8 ways to protect your finances and increase prosperity

South - Mars 300px

Om Namo Bhagavate Narasinghaya

The energy of the South area of any given space is relatively ‘used up’ or depleted since it has already travelled from the Northeast, East and Southeast of your space. It is now somewhat negative, but we can channel and use it in such a way to bring optimal benefits and positive results into our life.

The beneficial and positive qualities generated from the South area of your home or business :

Passion, Determination, Endurance and Motivation.

A Vastu pundit who knows the science of Vedic astrology and Vastu can show you the traits of your Mars planet positioned in your horoscope. Since Mars rules the South direction, they can work hand in hand.

Mostly an open and light South can bring the destructive qualities of Mars;

Chaos, Thoughtlessness and Impulsive behaviour and unnecessary Expenditure.

8 ways to Protect your Finances and Increase Prosperity with adjustments to the South direction

  • To protect against financial losses due to chaos and impulsive behaviour you can make this space “heavy” through the use of large heavy furniture, large terracotta potted plants with sizeable leaves to capture the peak of the daytime sun rays from the South of your some.
  • Generally large windows and entrances are not recommended in the South, if you have these here you can use heavy curtains to minimise the negative effect of large windows, and external doors may be painted red. A few red coloured items; for example cushions or a rug, throws or decor will help strengthen your Mars.
  • However there is one point in the south where you can have an entrance, window or mirrors. This is where the energy of prosperity enters your premises and can be easily deciphered in a Vastu floor plan of your building.
  • This area should be preferably without any body of water.
  • Earth and Fire elements do well here like electric installations, fireplaces or heavy storage.
  • There should be no down hill slope towards the South but rather the plot of land should be higher than the North, Northeast and East.

Failing all else, and you don’t have the South of your house with any of the positive Vastu traits mentioned above, then fear not. We all have to start somewhere. ‘The journey of a 1000 steps begins with the first step’. That first step to your transformation is to ask for help from a power greater than ourselves.

  •  Install the South-Narasingha Yantra on the South direction compass point, where it enters wall of room, house, building or plot, and ask for protection from unnecessary expenditure and losses. Open yourself to becoming prosperous with fruitful investments. During mantra recital create the possibility of manifesting wealth and maintaining a continuous momentum.
  • A Vastu pyramid is a powerful remedial tool for counteracting spatial defects and restoring balance and harmony especially if you are not able to make the vastu adjustments required immediately. This tool can be utilised to help us create our own personal transformation. The pyramid’s powerful effect will make positive subtle adjustments to the environment it is installed in. Since our space is a reflection of our own current karmic play out, we are treating the symptoms, whilst the mantras, affirmations and meditations gradually cure the ‘disease’.

The Fourth Basic Energetic Law Of Vasati

September 14, 2016 By nikunja Leave a Comment

We have mentioned the  twelve Vasati laws in the introduction to the twelve Laws of Vasati  in earlier posts and here we are describing the Fourth of the Four Energetic Laws in more detail. There are always many questions about the scientific foundations of Vastu, by understanding these Vasati Laws we can come to appreciate the authenticity of this science. The Fourth basic Energetic Law of Vasati follows on from the First, Second and Third Energetic laws and it shows energies change in various areas of any given space.

This law corresponds with the Second Law that divides given energy fields (within land, buildings and rooms) into areas with positive energy potential and areas with negative energy potential. This consists of three principles that show how the particular energy potential behaves under the influence: of Water   (first energy principle), of Weights (second energy principle) and of available Space (third energy principle).

Where should water be placed?

  •  The first energy principle is that water increases the energetic potential of any given sector. If water is in an area with positive energy potential, the positive energy of that sector is increased. But if water is in an area with negative energy potential, the negative energy of that sector is increased. Thus water is an energy store and amplifier that receives and emits energy.                                                     This quality of water has been confirmed by water researchers like Viktor Schauberger, Theodor Schwenk as well as by modern biophoton research (Popp, Ludwig). Thus this natural law of nature guides as to where on a site or in a building water tanks, ponds, cisterns, or waterfalls are best positioned. water in the North, Northeast and East are generally good for enhancing positive energies. However water in the  South, Southwest and West mostly attracts, supports and even amplifies negative energies.

Where should weights or heavy items be placed?

  • The second energy principle is that weight diminishes the energy potential of any given sector in which it is placed. Thus one side of this rule is that heavy items or weights should ideally be placed in the South, Southwest and West of a site or building because it naturally reduces the negative potential in those sectors.             The other side of this rule is that heavy weights or items in the North, Northeast and East should be avoided because such weightiness in these areas obstructs the positive energy flowing freely from these directions. Thus in following this principle the Southwest of any room, building and land should be the ‘heaviest’ in weight.

Where should there be more space?

  •  The third energy principle is that the available space increases the energetic potential of any given sector. The general principle is that the energetic potential of any given area becomes stronger if it occupies more space either vertically North or horizontally East. if for example the East area of the house’s plot has more space than the West, the positive energy potential of the East will blossom more than the negative energy potential of the West. In this respect the energy balance of such a house is positive.                                                                                         Similarly if the house is positioned more to the South of its plot than the North, leaving more space in the North, the positive energy potential in the North can manifest much more than its negative counterpart in the South.

How should the building site slope?

  • Thus from this third energy principle comes the natural law that buildings should be erected more towards and upon the Southwest area of a site. This positioning ensures that the negative potential is weighed down or contained and thus the positive areas are free to manifest. It also follows that there should be bigger rooms in the Northeast of the house than in the Southwest. The same rule applies not only to the horizontal extent of the room, building or site but also to its vertical extent. This rule governs that the site should be lower in the East than the West, so that the positive energy potential of the East has more space than the West. This leads to an overall energy balance.                                                                             The North should also be lower landscape than the South so that its positive energy potential is greater than the negative energy potential in the South. Thus the Southwest should have the highest landscape or height in any given space, and can slightly slope downwards towards the North and East, thus leaving the Northeast as the lowest point. The Northwest needs more space than the Southeast  because outer movement manifests as air and is a positive characteristic of the Northwest. In the Southeast, the movement of energy manifests itself internally in the form of heat and fire. That is why the Northwest should be a little lower than the Southeast and not have heavy weight since that would block its outer movement of energy or air flow.

The Fourth Basic Energetic Law of Vasati not only addresses the best places for slopes and the best positioning of buildings upon a plot of land but also shows the best directions in which to have extensions when extending rooms, buildings and sites. This indicates that extensions in the South, Southwest and West should be avoided whereas extensions in the North, Northeast and East are intrinsically positive.

Chart of Ideal Room Placements within Eight Compass points of your home
  • Using the scientific principles of the twelve Vasati laws, this diagram shows the ideal room placements within the eight compass points of your home.
  • You can see where the five natural elements; Fire, Water, Ether, Earth and Air are prevalent within each direction.
  • Positive Energy potential of the elements, weights and space as well as favourable and supportive planetary influences are best achieved by assigning the room functions as depicted.
  • You can see the Vastu Purush lying with his head towards this is very sensitive space in the Northeast (Water and Ether). His feet lie in the Southwest (Earth)
  • The centre (Brahma sthana- the seat of Lord Brahma) of your home is sacred space ideally reserved for family members to come together and socialise.
  • The Northwest (Air); your garage and pets can also be kept here. The Southeast (Fire); can also be very busy and productive areas of your home if used wisely. To understand this further refer to the Second Energetic law of Vasati
  • The life flowing energies begin to slow down in the South as they come from the Southeast. Energies are now totally consumed by the time it reaches the Southwest. The Western energies are also now coming to depletion as it becomes used up in the Northwest. As a result of the negative energies in the South, Southwest and West these areas are best made still and heavy and best used as bedrooms and heavy storage.
  • Another important consideration when choosing your personal rooms in any given space is to refer to your Unique Personal Direction which is calculated from your astrological birth data.

Your Own Best Directions

Your Directional Empowerment

Where do you feel most comfortable within your home ? You may notice you feel more drawn or favour some spots over others, For example you may have a favourite seat in the living room or you may be drawn to a certain part of the house. This brings to mind the U.S. TV hit comedy series ‘The Big Bang Theory’ where the character Sheldon gets bent out of shape if anyone takes his seat.

The Science:

  • Well actually there is a science behind why we choose one spot over another. Through the science of Vastu and Vedic astrology, we are able to calculate your personal compatibility with the different areas of your habitat. Thereby giving you ‘directional empowerment’.

Vedic Astrology:

  • Discover where you are best supported and nourished by the planets and elements in your immediate environment. Your Own Personal Direction is one of eight compass points within any given space where you feel at your best, most empowered and happy. This is calculated using the placement of the Moon planet within a particular nakshatra or constellation in your birth chart

Choose Your Space:

  • Of the eight compass points; four will be positive for you. One being your Own Best Personal Direction and the three other which also support and nourish you, but decrease in their ability to do so as they move away from your own direction. The remaining four directions may make you feel challenged in your daily activities.
  • In which direction of the building do you spend many hours of the day at work or at night in bed?  If you have the luxury of choosing the area in the house or building where you spend most of your time, then of course you would want to be in your Own Personal Direction as much as practically possible.
  • If you are going to spend long periods of time in a specific space you can become aware of how these energies influence you. With this knowledge you can make informed decisions about the way you use the areas of your home or building wherever practically possible. Wherever you are in the world, and whichever building you reside in, you can use this same information as a guideline.
  • Here’s an example:

if North is your Own Personal Best Direction then how would you feel in all the other directions? See below the tendencies or inclinations which might manifest by additional factors. There is of course no need to fear or avoid certain directions but we can interpret this data as hints to solve present situations and avoid future difficulties :

North:  gain, happiness, success                                                      +

Northeast:  comfortable, financial power                                     +

East:  mental happiness, agricultural wealth, fame                      +

Southeast:  illnesses, use of medicine, loss of health                   –

South:  difficulties because of enemies, political agitation           –

Southwest:  hostilities without reason, expenses, agitation        –

West:  riches and wealth through food, happiness, success         +

Northwest:  fear of death, agitation, responsibility for accident –

Your Own Personal Direction is included free in a Consultation or you can contact me if you would like to know the best place in your home or office for you.

Your Nakshatra also reveals your Vedic animal and symbol. There is a deep significance of the animal connected to the nakshatras and this will give an indication of the personality, behaviour pattern, and relationship with other nakshatras not just from a sexual point of view, but also the spiritual connection. We will discuss nakshatras in the next few posts.

Six functions of Vastu Floor Plans

August 31, 2016 By nikunja Leave a Comment

floor-plan-image

Your Vastu Floor Plans

  1. The floor plans of your building and rooms are converted into Vastu Floor Plan compass point charts. This is an integral part of your Vastu analysis. It is essential to know the relationship between the property under analysis and the orientation of the eight compass points of the premises. (Vastu considers the four cardinal points and the four sub cardinal points; i.e. North, Northeast, East etc.). Once this relationship has been established it is used as the basis for the analysis.
  2. In the creation of the Vastu Floor plans a blueprint of the property is oriented North and situated on a grid dividing the building into 64 energy grid field for a home and 81 energy grid field for a business. These divisions can assist you in determining the best use of the different areas of your building.
  3. The floor plan is surrounded by plaques depicting the planet, element, ruler (deva) and Avatar associated with each direction. You can explore the qualities of each direction and understand what is has to offer you.
  4. The Vastu Purush; the human shaped deity of the building who is also referred to as the Symbol of Life Space, is depicted on an additional floor plan with his head lying in Northeast and his feet in the Southwest.
  5. The Energy Entrance Calculator is the third Vastu Floor plan you will receive in a consultation. It will show you the quality of the energies as they enter your premises, through windows and doors etc. You can also see where positive energy flow is blocked and set about ‘opening it up’ with various vastu tools under our guidance.
  6. Please note where the eight compass points enter through the walls of your building. These points will be used to help you place the respective Vastu Yantras in their own directions.

The Centre of Your House

Vastu Purusha 300pxthe centre

The Quality of the Centre

  • The Centre of a building is known as the Brahma sthana or the place of Lord Brahma.
  • Brahma is the sub creator of the universe, and he also resides on the middle of the Vastu Purush’s body in the centre of every building.
  • The other devas or demigods, personalities and sages who are also surrounding the Vastu Purush are all subservient to Brahma, he is therefore given honour and respect in this place.
  • The centre is considered to be sacred space and represents our inner sanctity and inner peace.
  • The Vastu Purusha (see his image in Yantra above) embodies the spirit of the building and is responsible for its well-being, is centered here.
  • He supports the convergence of directional energies.
  • He is the Symbol of Life Space and he lies with his head directed towards the Northeast, his feet to the Southwest and his joints are located in the two dynamic directions, the Northwest and the Southeast.

The Do’s

The Best Room functions for the Centre of your home and business;

  • Having an open centre or skylight window to allow light and air from above to enter your space is the best Vastu for here.
  • Meeting, socialising and relaxing with close or intimate friends, family members or business partners.
  • If there is no open space in the centre of your house then use the centre for neutral activities such as as a dining room, living room or spacious hallway or a room that leads to other rooms.
  • A centre roof should slope towards the East and North.
  • The walls in the centre of house should be white
  • In India, the sacred tree, Tulasi, is usually kept in the centre of the courtyard. Circumambulating this holy tree cleanses the aura and uplifts the consciousness.

The Don’ts

  • Avoid keeping heavy storage or immovable items in the centre area since the subtle Ether element needs ‘space’.
  • No clutter and clear space as much as possible.
  • Any fire element here may increase any digestive disorders but of course electricity is unavoidable since it is everywhere, so try to avoid electrical heaters and fireplaces.
  • A kitchen is not positioned auspiciously here
  • Nor is a staircase
  • Nor a bedroom
  • Nor a toilet

The Negative outcome of Poor Vastu Has shown the following problems:

  • Unsteadiness of mind
  • Restlessness
  • Anxiety
  • Problematic family relations and emotional trauma

For Your Business

  • Creativity stifled
  • Dissatisfied customers and staff

Diseases fostered by long term weak Vastu in the Centre include

  • Digestive disorders
  • Stomach-aches
  • Mental instability

The Vastu Remedies

You may be unable to utilise all of the positive functions for the centre area. However you can by make use of Vastu tools for generating and amplifying all the positive energies the Centre has to offer you.

  • Install the Vastu Purush Yantra (see figure at top of page) at an auspicious day and time in the centre point of your home, either on the wall or ceiling with the head of the vastu purush pointing towards the Northeast.
  • Around the Yantra there is a geometrical structure made of three circles, in which the 32 directions of the sky are named and numbered. This structure has the effect of an antenna and at the same time of a mechanism, which strives to align the microcosm of your living space with the macrocosm of the universe.
  • Attune yourself with the energies of these Yantras and Mantras and go within yourself to become grounded and centred.
  • And try to ensure there is clear open ‘space’ here but this may not always be possible.
  • If that’s the case then it would be a good time to install the activated Vastu Pyramid in the centre of your building. The powerful Vastu Maha Purush Mandala is also contained within the centre of pyramid.

The Positive outcome using Vastu Principles

  • Positive Vastu here can create an environment that is supportive for overall good health, peace within ourselves and in our dealing with others.
  • We can utilise the energy here to get more in touch with our inner peace and calmness.
  • Mental and emotional stability and other positive health benefits are further benefits to be received.

Third Basic Energetic Law of Vasati- 6 Practical Ways to Ensure Positive Energy Flow

March 6, 2016 By nikunja Leave a Comment

We have mentioned the 12 Vasati laws in the introduction of twelve laws for successful healthy living. Here we are describing the Third of the Four Energetic Laws in more detail. There are always many questions about the scientific foundations of Vastu, by understanding these Vasati Laws we can come to appreciate the authenticity of this science. The Third basic Energetic Law of Vasati follows on from the First and Second Energetic laws and it demonstrates the strong and weak areas in any given space.

Strong and Weak Areas; This principle addresses the qualitative difference between the life strengthening directions of the North and the East and the two energetically weaker directions of the South and the West. Accordingly, each side of a square that is parallel to the cardinal points can be divided into strong and weak energetic points.

Strong and weak areas of Space

  •  On each side, the Northern and Eastern half is energetically stronger than the Western and Southern half.
  • Each side of an energy field has a strong and weak half. The Northern and Eastern half is always the stronger than the Southern and Western half.
  • Thus on the East side, the Northeastern point is energetically stronger than the Southeastern point.
  • The same principle applies to the West side, where the Northwestern point is energetically stronger than the Southwest.
  • The Northern side of the Northeastern half is energetically preferable to the Northwest point.

From this simple basic rule, important practical conclusions can be deduced to help regulate the energy influx within a building, plot or a site.

6 Practical Ways to Ensure Positive Energy Flow

  • Roads that directly aim at a site are to be seen as positive if both meet in a strong area.
  • Roads that meet in a weak area are considered negative.
  • Dead end roads and roads which make a right angle turn in either one or both directions, directly in front of the building site or house are also negative.
  • Entrances, doors and windows should preferably be in the strong areas of a house or a room. This ensures that mainly positive energies flow into your building or plot.
  • Doors are seen as positive when they are in a strong part of the house and their energy flows parallel to the East-west or North-South axis.                                                             While Feng Shui considers it not positive to put doors and windows opposite each other, Vasati sees it as positive based upon this third natural law.
  • Conversely, energy flow along the the sub-direction diagonals, e.g. Northwest to Southeast are deemed negative.

The Second Basic Energetic Law of Vasati

October 6, 2015 By nikunja Leave a Comment

We have listed the 12 Vasati laws and described the First Energetic Vasati Law in earlier posts and here we are describing the Second Energetic Law in more detail to help us understand how energy flows in any given space.

The Second Energetic Law – The Energy Potential Parts;

  • The second basic energetic law of Vasati is closely related with the first. The life given energies reach a certain site from the North and East and are already ‘digested’ or consumed while flowing to the Southwest. No life supporting energies come from the South and West on any site. It follows the whole site can be divided in one half with positive energetic potential and one half with negative energetic potential.
  • The positive area comprises the North, Northeast and East, while the South, Southwest, and West have negative energetic potential. However, this does not mean that the energies in South and West are basically negative, while there are always positive energies in North and East. Rather this demonstrates the energetic potential of the various sectors. External circumstances, items that are placed in a building or room, the people who live or work there, the buildings themselves, and various natural influences can make potential energy more positive or negative.
image 2nd energetic law                                                                                                                                                                                                     Positive And Negative Energetic Potential Of Two Sectors

  • A site or building that has been erected using the principles of Vasati laws of Nature manifests positive energies in all its areas, even in regions of negative energy potential. From this a further basic principle can be deduced. It describes how the energy flows from area of positive energy potential into the area of negative energy potential. The two points where this happens is on the Northwest and Southeast diagonal axis. The flowing life energy releases energy in these areas through the negative shift that is occurring here. This energy is expressed in the Northwest as external movement of element Air and in the Southeast as internal energy i.e. heat or Fire element.
Second Energetic Law                                                     Division of Space Into Warm and Cold Sectors

  • The Southeastern part including South and East is influenced by the Sun and is known as the warm sector, while the Northwestern part, including the North and west is influenced by the Moon and is called the cold sector. The Northwest supports movement and dynamic exchange, while the Southeast supports heat processes and the fire element.

The First Basic Energetic Law Of Vasati

July 12, 2015 By nikunja Leave a Comment

We have introduced the 12 Laws of Success for Healthy Living and Building and mentioned these 12 Vasati laws in an earlier post and here we are describing the First of the Four Energetic Laws in more detail. There are always many questions about the scientific foundations of Vastu, by understanding these Vasati Laws we can come to appreciate the authenticity of this science.

The First Energetic Law – The Geophysical Energy Current

The first basic energetic law of of Vasati is of a geophysical nature and describes the global energy currents on earth. The scientific research of European naturalists Viktor Schauberger, Wilhelm Reich and Karl baron of Reichenbach have irrefutably proved that an energy current from North to South and a secondary energy current from East to West flows over the surface of the whole planet Earth. Since these energy currents are of different origin they are of a different quality.

  • The North energy current follows North to South magnetic field lines and since its origin is the organic life of the Earth itself, it is called Organic Life Energy. Its quality is cooling, nourishing, female, substance building and healing. These qualities correspond to the magnetic field in contrast to those of the electric field, that stand vertically on the magnetic field lines.
  • The quality of the energy current flowing from East to West corresponds to an electric field and has its origins in the rotation of the Earth and in the relative motion of Earth and Sun. It is known as the Solar life energy and its quality is warming, vitalising, male and catalysing.
  • Both energy qualities complement one another and when combined in the Northeast to form the one life energy, which represents the whole spectrum of life-supporting processes.

The dynamics of these energy currents on a site are derived from a simple vector calculation rule that additionally describes the following combined two vectors:

Both North and East energy current vectors combine to form One energy vector that flows from Northeast to Southwest. This phenomena defines the vertical energy flow on any site, in any house or any room.
new Global Geophysical Energy CurrentsAddition of Global Energy Current Vectors

In the centre of any given room there is a strong Northeast to Southwest vertical energy that is flowing up and down the energy current vector and slightly bending to the Northeast and Southeast around the centre:

Sri Yantra

Sri Yantra 300px

Sri Yantra

  • The Vedas explain Shri Yantra as a scientific, cosmic and planetary energy zone and is one of the most auspicious, powerful transformative tools used for obtaining desired consciousness and results. It is proven to be universally beneficial for all.
  • This timeless symbol of good fortune has been used to invoke prosperity and well being, as well as an aid for meditation for centuries. It’s complex geometry is the key to it’s extraordinary effect, transforming and harmonising living spaces as well as counterbalancing a large percentage of energetic disturbances.
  • Sri yantra, also known as Sri Chakra, is called the mother of all yantras because all other yantras are derived from it. It is often referred to as the ‘The king of Power Symbols”.

Where is it best placed?

It is best placed in the Northwest, North, NorthEast or East of your home. In all images the centre triangle with the dot in it usually points downwards, however In Vastu when installing this yantra this triangle should point towards the East for generating auspicious energies.

The Five Great Elements represented within the Geometry

Our universe is composed of the five great elements in perfect proportions and harmony with each other, allowing us to maintain our existence on this planet as we know it. The Sri yantra’s geometry demonstrates the significance of this balance.

Circle = Energy of the element water

Square = Energy of the element earth

Triangle = Energy of the element fire

Diagonal lines = Energy of the element air

Horizontal line = Energy of the element water

Vertical line = Energy of the element fire

Point = Energy of the element ether.

 The Design and Significance

  • In the image above, the diagram consists of nine interwoven isosceles triangles : four point upwards, representing the divine primordial feminine dynamic energy. The male aspect are the five triangles pointing downwards, representing Siva, the primordial male essence of static wisdom
  • The centre, there is a big dot (known as the bindu), which is the primordial matter or the starting point of creation resulting from the union of the male and female energies.
  • The triangles are angled in such a way that they produce 43 subsidiary triangles, which form the abodes of different demigods (Universal rulers).
  • The sri yantra has outer rings consisting of an eight-petalled lotus, enclosed by a sixteen petalled lotus, girdled in turn by three circles, which represent creation, maintenance and dissolution.
  • The lotus flower typically represent chakras, with each petal representing a psychic propensity. They are all enclosed in a square with four doors or gates, one on each side. which represents the boundaries within which the deities reside, protecting you from the chaos and disorder of the outside world.

The Evolution of Man

Man’s spiritual journey from the stage of material existence to ultimate enlightenment is mapped on the Sri Yantra. This spiritual journey or pilgrimage in which every step is an ascent to the center, is a movement beyond one’s limited existence, and every level is nearer to the goal. Such a journey is mapped in stages, and each of these stages corresponds with one of the circuits of which the Sri Yantra is composed from the outer plane to the bindu in the center. The ‘bindu’, the dot in the centre, represents the original unity of the male and female principles prior to creation point from which the manifestation of the cosmos emerges

Now that we have familiarised ourselves with the significance of the Sri Yantra geometry, we can better understand the Meru Chakra and how it works.
